What age is suitable for violin lessons at Orrett Music Academy?
Orrett Music Academy offers violin lessons for ages 4 and up. For children ages 3-5, we have a specialized group class called Steps to Music available here.
Do students need prior experience to enroll in violin lessons?
No prior experience is necessary. Our violin lessons cater to beginners as well as those with some violin background.
What styles of music do you teach in violin lessons?
Our violin lessons cover a diverse range of styles, including classical, folk, and contemporary. Students have the opportunity to explore and refine their skills in their favourite genres. We also use elements of the Suzuki and RCM methods as required for a well-rounded approach to learning.

Do students need to bring their own violins, or are instruments provided?
If you already own a violin, we encourage you to bring it along. However, if you don’t have one, don’t worry! Orrett Music Academy offers instrument rentals of various kinds. When you’re ready to set up your rental agreement, our staff will be happy to assist you.
Please note: Our instrument rentals meet strict quality standards and are available for rental periods as short as two months. Instrument rentals are exclusively available to our registered students.
